Rome snowboards The history of Rome snowboards is similar to the development of Yes Or Jones snowboards. Here, too, two professional key people felt that the development of snowboarding has stalled and that their parent company, Burton, does not represent snowboarding's "cultural revolution" enough. Instead, they put out mediocre products, backed by heavy advertising from professional Olympians.
Josh Reid and Paul Maravetz were not just anyone at the Burton company: they were responsible for production and product development as well as marketing. In 2001, they left the Burton company and founded their own company ROME SDS in Waterbury, USA.
Their goal was to keep the original cultural mission of snowboarding. the "philosophical aspects of snowboarding brands are more important than in other industries," says Josh.
Since then, Rome has become history, countless test-tested products, design innovations, and incredibly demanding graphic development have made their way through life.
The Rome Katana binding has been among the TOP3 freeride bindings in the world for years.
Like Burton, this is also a very complex snowboard company, it has made a lasting impact in snowboard boots, boards and bindings.
"Snowboarding cannot be reformed" Paul Maravetz (an obvious reference to the more rebellious days of early snowboarding).
