Rome snowboards

"You can't reform snowboarding" Paul Maravetz (an obvious reference to the more rebellious days of early snowboarding).

The history of Rome snowboards is similar to the development of Yes or Jones snowboards. Here, too, two professional key people felt that the development of snowboarding has stalled and that their parent company, Burton, does not represent the "cultural revolution" of snowboarding enough. Instead, they produce mediocre products backed by heavy advertising from professional Olympians. Josh Reid and Paul Maravetz were not just anyone at the Burton company: they were responsible for production and product development as well as marketing. In 2001, they left the Burton company and founded their own company, ROME SDS, in Waterbury, USA. Their goal was to maintain the original cultural mission of snowboarding.

"The philosophical aspects of snowboarding brands are more important than in other industries," says Josh. Since then, Rome has been accompanied by history, numerous test prize-winning products, design innovations and incredibly demanding graphic development. The Rome Katana binding e.g. has been among the world's TOP3 freeride bindings for years. Like Burton, this is also a very complex snowboard company, making a lasting impression on snowboard boots, boards and bindings.
